Research and Impact Focus
I study how health and justice systems intersect, focusing on the experiences of incarcerated women and girls. Using mixed methods, including qualitative, quantitative, and participatory approaches, I examine policy design, implementation, and lived experiences. I prioritize translational research that bridges academic inquiry and community collaboration to improve well-being for system-impacted individuals and strengthen public safety.

New Op-Ed on Menstrual Health in Juvenile Detention in Youth Today
"Menstrual health knowledge is agency, and agency is the foundation of choice. While we could talk about reproductive or sexual health, we must start with the basics. Without access to menstrual health education, young women and girls are without the most fundamental knowledge needed to make informed choices about their bodies and futures."
Journey.do Menstrual Health Module Goes Live
I recently developed an interactive menstrual health education module for Journey.do, a digital learning platform for youth in detention and under community supervision. The module provides accessible, evidence-based information on menstruation and self-advocacy in healthcare settings. It is designed to empower system-impacted youth with the knowledge and confidence to manage their menstrual health, navigate healthcare interactions, and advocate for their needs both during and after system involvement.

This article is a content analysis of literary pieces discussing menstruation in carceral spaces. Using a radical feminist framework, we explore the interplay of menstruation, period poverty, and carceral control to explore how incarcerated women experience menstrual health management.
